Sacred Heart Student Athlete Julia Ward Signs Letter of Commitment with Fordham University

Student Athlete Julia Ward of Kingston, MA, a member of the Sacred Heart School class of 2020, recently signed a letter of commitment to attend Fordham University and join their Division I women’s soccer program.

Ward, primarily a center midfielder, played for the GPS MA Elite team that won the Champions State Cup in 2019 and the Olympic Development Program Eastern US Region 1 Championship in 2018. She played varsity girls soccer for Sacred Heart High school for the 2016-2018 seasons.

Ward is Vice President of the high school’s National Honor Society and was awarded the AP Scholar with Honor Award from the College Board in 2019. She will study marketing at the Gabelli School of Business at Fordham’s Rose Hill campus in the fall.

“This is an exciting accomplishment for Julia and we applaud her on this milestone,” said James Hayden, Interim Head of School. “Her strong work ethic, enthusiasm and commitment are evident in all of the challenges that Julia takes on and we know that she will be successful in her future endevours.”
