David M. Friedman

Boston law firm Rackemann, Sawyer & Brewster announces that David M. Friedman has been appointed to Lawyers Clearinghouse’s 2019 Leadership Committee. As a committee member, he will work to advance the organization’s mission to improve the lives of people facing social and economic hardship by engaging the legal community in pro bono service to nonprofit organizations and their homeless and low-income clients.

As a Director in Rackemann’s Family Law department, Friedman represents clients in all aspects of probate and family law, including cases before probate and family courts across Massachusetts. In addition, he has successfully argued appeals before the Massachusetts Appeals Court and Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.

Co-founded by the Boston Bar Association and the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Lawyers Clearinghouse is now in its 31st year of operation. By calling on lawyers to volunteer their time and expertise, each year the Lawyers Clearinghouse leverages its resources to provide nearly $8 million worth of legal assistance to its nonprofit and homeless clients. In addition to serving as the primary provider of legal services to Massachusetts nonprofits, the Clearinghouse runs a legal clinic program which serves over 250 homeless and very low-income clients each year, as well as an innovative program for retired lawyers and judges called the Access to Justice Fellows Program.
