Garvey, an associate in the CENTURY 21® Commonwealth Winchester office, was recently named REALTOR of the Year by The REALTORS® Commercial Alliance of Massachusetts (RCA-MA). Garvey’s award was announced at the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS’ 2018 Annual Awards Dinner, at which local REALTORS of the Year were recognized, as well as recipients of the Milton H. Shaw Distinguished Service Award, Good Neighbor Awards and Private Property Rights Award.
Garvey, a current resident of Woburn, has been a REALTOR for 35 years and currently serves as president of the REALTOR Commercial Alliance of Massachusetts (RCA-MA). He is also a member of the Greater Boston Association of REALTORS (GBAR) where he was recently awarded Life Membership. He is an Eagle Scout and continues as a member of Troop 416 BSA Sponsoring Committee in Medford.
Garvey has also registered 30-plus years as an Easter Seals Fundraising volunteer as well as a participant in the Winchester Foundation for Educational Excellence (WFEE) Annual Trivia Bee and Winchester’s Town Day (both as team member representing the Winchester office). He is also a member of the Policy Committee of the National Association of Gay & Lesbian Real Estate Professionals (NAGLREP) and participated in the NAGLREP National Conference in Palm Springs earlier this month.
Garvey is a former 35+ year resident of Medford, is married and has two children and three grandchildren.
There were twenty (20) REALTORS recognized by their local boards, from whom a state recipient was selected. These awards recognize those who have served not only in the real estate profession, but their communities as well. Recipients are deemed to have demonstrated REALTOR spirit through participation in civic activities, including clubs, charity, and/or fraternal or religious groups; notable business accomplishments; and state, local and/or national association activity (such as participation in leadership, or work with societies, institutes or councils).
