Ed Craven
Ed Craven, a veteran of the financial services industry, has acquired a Supporting Strategies franchise for the territory of Cape Cod and the Islands, and a portion of the lower South Shore including Plymouth and Kingston.
In this new business venture, Craven, a resident of Cohasset, will focus his efforts from Kingston south across Cape Cod and the Islands. His Supporting Strategies team of accounting professionals will provide small and mid-sized businesses with bookkeeping and operational support.
Craven, whose serves as Managing Director of the Cape and Islands territory, has established an office location in Hyannis, at 100 Independence Drive.
Supporting Strategies has provided efficient and effective outsourced accounting services to growing businesses since 2004. As the firm has grown and added franchise territories, the firm has developed secure, best-of-breed technology and a proven process to deliver a full suite of services, including bookkeeping and general accounting support, vendor and accounts payable management, billing and accounts receivable management, financial and managerial reporting, and payroll administration.
Craven brings significant business experience to his new venture. He spent ten years with New York’s Investment Technology Group in their Boston office, as a sales manager and financial technology vendor. Among his accomplishments was introducing the firm’s indications-based equity matching software to their institutional client base and ramping the product to over $35 million in sales. Prior to ITG, Craven served as Senior Vice President at RBC Dominion, Canada’s largest investment bank.
His background also includes time as an independent consultant, where he provided account management and business development services to a group of financial companies.
He said that the initial reception to his bookkeeping/business process business has been very positive. “I’ve been pleased at the client engagements we have gotten, and look forward to working with business owners across the Cape and Islands and lower South Shore to assist with their needs.”

Craven is active in the community also. He has provided volunteer income tax support through the Boston Tax Initiative, helping prepare tax filings for underserved in Boston communities and helping them maximize earned income tax credits. A boating and fishing enthusiast, he also volunteers for the Cohasset (MA) Maritime Institute, where he serves as the organization’s Treasurer. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Fairfield University, and his MBA from Fordham University.
