SCS Financial to Build up New Hedge Fund: Special Situations - CBL

BOSTON -- SCS Financial intends to build up a new hedge fund, SCS Special Situations Fund LLC, according to a Reg D filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
The Boston-based manager of private wealth and institutional investments, has not set a target amount for the fund's size. The first sale has yet to take place.
SCS already manages the hedge funds SCS Capital Partners LLC and SCS Opportunities Fund Ltd.

Joe serves as Chief Operating Officer of SCS and is also a Managing Director. His primary responsibility is the day-to-day management of the firm. Prior to joining SCS, Joe worked at Grantham, Mayo, Van Otterloo & Co., LLC as Head of Investment Operations and Technology. Previously Joe worked at State Street Bank as the Director of Global Operations and Performance Measurement within the Wealth Manager Services Division. Joe worked for over eight years at Deutsche Asset Management (formerly Scudder), most recently as Director of Finance for Global Investment Operations. Joe also held various positions within Scudder including Director of Financial Strategy for the Americas Region and COO of Scudder's Venture Group where he served as CFO of Scudder Weisel Capital.
Joe earned his B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Joe holds the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
Joe has over 17 years experience in the investment business.
