ikaSystems has raised $12.5 million from sale of shares to six investors, according to an SEC filing.

The Southborough-based provider of cloud computing solutions for the healthcare payer market has previously raised $120 million. Its backers include Essex Woodlands Health Ventures, with offices in Houston and New York.

Founded in 1999 by Ravi Ika, the company in October promoted President Joseph Marabito to succeed Ika as CEO.
