Battery Global Advisors LLC has raised $9.8 million for its BGA Horizon Fund LLC from 11 investors, according to an amended filing.

The Waltham-based firm, an independent investment manager, is entitled to fees for its investment management services for the fund.

BGA traces its roots to 2001 when the Battery Ventures Family Office was established to manage the assets of the venture firm’s senior partners. In early 2005, the firm created BGA to put an institutional framework around the investment process.

CEO and Chief Investment Officer John O’Connor heads the BGA’s team of eight investment professionals that manage over $500 million.
