The Office of Campus Ministry at Sacred Heart School, a private, co-educational Catholic school system, providing educational opportunities for students from preschool through grade 12 (www.sacredheartkingston.com) is honored to announce that Cardinal Séan O’Malley, O.F.M. Cap. will preside at a January 31st mass, in conjunction with the school’s Founder’s Day.
The 11:00 a.m. mass will be dedicated to the Sisters of Divine Providence; inthe fall of 1948, the Sisters opened Sacred Heart School, Kindergarten- Grade 7, on Court Street in Plymouth, MA and over the next 14 years, the Sisters built both the High School and the Elementary School in Kingston, as well as a residence for the Sisters.
The Peer Ministers, under the guidance of Andrea Hurm, are planning a special Liturgy during the January 31st mass presided over by the Cardinal. Several Sisters of Divine Providence will sing “Ave Maria” at the mass, following which there will be a small reception for Cardinal O’Malley hosted by Sacred Heart School President Sister Myra Rodgers.
Cardinal Séan O’Malley is the ninth bishop and sixth archbishop in the more than 200-year history of the Archdiocese of Boston. This will be his second visit to Sacred Heart, having celebrated mass at the school in November of 2015.
