Mass Innovation Labs Makes Major Expansion

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mass Innovation Labs, the world’s leading accelerated commercialization program for the biopharmaceutical industry, announces today several major expansion projects that will be launching in 2018. The company’s tremendous success has allowed it to open three new building locations within Boston’s Seaport, Cambridge and Boston Landing areas. Mass Innovation Labs will also be attending the 36th Annual J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference this week in San Francisco.

Mass Innovation Labs’ groundbreaking program in Kendall Square, which opened its doors in 2015, has been providing emerging biopharmaceutical companies such as CRISPR Therapeutics and Editas Medicine with turnkey laboratory and office space and operational support that has those companies up and running in a matter of weeks. Mass Innovation Labs offers a wide spectrum of services including space design, enterprise IT, intellectual property support, human resources, waste management, among many other services. Since its inception, Mass Innovation Labs’ member companies have secured more than $5 billion in funding. In addition, member company Solid Biosciences recently announced an S-1 filing with the SEC for a $100 million Initial Public Offering while Cue Biopharma announced the closing of its Initial Public Offering for $66.2 million.

Mass Innovation Labs’ newest accelerator locations include:

  • Innovation Square in Boston’s Seaport: Partnering with Related Beal, a prominent real estatedeveloper, owner and operator in Boston, Mass Innovation Labs will lease 54,000 square feet of space and anchor the first two floors of Related Beal’s new Innovation Square life sciences development to pioneer and advance precision medicines.
  • Boston Landing in Allston-Brighton: Beginning in June of 2018, Mass Innovation Labs will occupy 84,000 square feet of NB Development Group’s 15-acre mixed-use development that is home to New Balance Athletics, Inc., among other world-class companies and organizations like Bose Corporation, the Boston Celtics and the Boston Bruins. The new facility will meet the needs of cutting-edge biotech and technology companies looking for space and operating programs that can be customized to suit their needs.
  • Sidney Research Campus in Cambridge: Located at21 Erie Street, Mass Innovation Labs expanded its partnership withBioMed Realtybysigning a 12-year lease for 52,000 square feet of space that will open in May 2018. This expansion will continue to support biopharmaceutical and life sciences companies in bringing game changing therapies to market faster.
