Norwood resident Elizabeth Merzigian, Facilities Manager – Sustainability Initiatives for Peabody Properties, Inc., a full-service real estate and property management firm, was recently named Rising Star of the Year – Associate at the 2017 PRISM Awards celebration.

Hosted by the Builders and Remodelers Association of Greater Boston (BRAGB), the 2017 PRISM Awards Gala saluted the accomplishments and achievements of Greater Boston builders, developers, project owners, architects, land planners, marketing/advertising firms, interior designers, remodelers, and other professionals in the home building industry. BRAGB has represented the industry since 1944 as one of the leading trade associations in New England. Winning a coveted PRISM Award is a sign of excellence in the field and recognition of superior achievement.

As an outstanding associate in the Individual and Group Achievement category, Merzigian won the Gold Award for Rising Star of the Year – Associate, for her work in sustainability initiatives. During her time with the PPI Facilities Department, Merzigian has helped to secure over $14.5 million in zero-cost property upgrades through various utility-funded programs, while overseeing processes to help owners manage their energy costs, helping them improve efficiency and enhance building performance while focusing on long-term sustainability. In 2015, Merzigian was named NEAHMA Certified Green Property Manager (CPGM) of the Year for her work in energy conservation. She is also a LEED Green Associate.

Peabody Properties also came home with two other awards. In the category of Excellence in Sales/Marketing, the Peabody Resident Services Staff at Pynchon/Edgewater Apartments in Springfield won the Gold Award for Community Spirit. Harbor Place Residences in Haverhill, managed by Peabody Properties and developed by Merrimack Street Ventures, a joint venture of The Planning Office for Urban Affairs (POUA) and the Greater Haverhill Foundation (GHF), won the silver award for Best Mixed-Use Community Development in the Excellence in Community Design category.

“Liz has truly made a remarkable impact on how we operate at Peabody Properties,” said Karen Fish-Will, Principal and CEO of Peabody Properties. “The initiatives she has spearheaded have led Peabody Properties to conserve more energy and spend less, while maintaining or improving the environment of our communities as a whole. Liz is truly deserving of this award – we are so proud of her accomplishments, and very grateful to BRAGB for this recognition.”
