Full-service real estate and property management firm Peabody Properties celebrated the 104^th birthday of Eloise “Lovey” Shannon, a resident of Peter Sanborn Place (a Peabody Properties managed community), last week.

More than 50 people joined Shannon, a lifelong Reading resident, to celebrate her 104^th birthday on November 9, including her family, Captain Paul Jackson of the Reading Fire Department (Shannon’s husband was a member of the Reading Fire Department), State Representative Bradley Jones, Town Selectman John Halsey, Kristin Cataldo, owner of Cupcake City in Reading (which donated gourmet cupcakes for the event), Stephen Delios, Culinary Bakery Teacher at Northeast Metropolitan Vocational School, and some of his students (who provided refreshments and cake), as well as Peter Sanborn Place residents and staff. Music was also provided by Ryan Pinette.

Additionally, Selectman Halsey announced that a proclamation by the town of Reading will from now on note a day in November (to be determined) as “Eloise ‘Lovey’ Shannon Day!”

“Lovey is a very exceptional member of our community, and we were all so honored to share in her special day,” said Marcy Brown, Resident Service Coordinator for Peter Sanborn Place. “We are also grateful for all that she shares with us, especially her wisdom and love, as a lifelong resident of Reading and a long-term member of our community.

“We wish her many more years of health and happiness,” Brown added.
