BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Culbert Healthcare Solutions, a management consulting firm serving healthcare organizations, today announced the appointment of James Murray, MS, CPHIMS as the company’s Chief Information Officer (CIO). Jim brings more than 25 years of Healthcare Information Technology experience. In his new role, Jim will be responsible for the strategic direction and management of the firm’s established IT consulting practices.

Before joining Culbert, Mr. Murray most recently served as Vice President of Information Technology for CVS/MinuteClinic at CVS Health. In this role, Jim worked to support a medical practice of over 2700 providers by enabling the efficient use of technology in the clinical setting as well as supporting digital patient engagement. During his tenure, CVS/MinuteClinic grew from 400 to over 1,100 clinics in 6 years seeing over 5 million patients annually. Prior to this, Jim held positions with Partners Healthcare Corporate Information Systems as a Technology Architect and as the Corporate Manager of Support and Technology Innovation at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH)/Massachusetts General Physicians Organization (MGPO). While working at MGH, he led teams supporting patient administrative systems as well as the development and deployment of a variety of software including mobile solutions for physicians and ambulatory patient tracking.

Mr. Murray completed his Master of Science in Medical Informatics from Northwestern University and his BA from the University of Nebraska. He has spoken to national audiences on the topics of healthcare information technology, data integration, cyber security, and disruptive innovation. He is on the faculty at Harvard School of Public Health for Executive and Continuing Professional Education.
