Christopher Cahill, Principal, Family Office Services at Twelve Points Wealth Management has earned the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® (CAP®) professional designation from the Richard D. Irwin Graduate School of The American College, Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. The CAP® program provides nonprofit and financial services professionals who work on the development and implementation of philanthropic programs with the knowledge and tools needed to achieve charitable giving objectives while also meeting estate planning and wealth management goals. Cahill’s expertise in this area, combined with his expansive financial and estate planning experience, enable him to provide his clients with a greater breadth of financial and estate planning options.

“Helping clients craft and execute a philanthropic mission is some of the most rewarding work that I have been involved with in my career. The CAP® designation signals that I am among an elite group of advisors with high-level philanthropic consulting skills, and I’m proud to have earned it,” said Cahill. “At Twelve Points Wealth Management, we create personally tailored plans that meet client’s individual needs, and adding the CAP® designation to the arsenal of tools will open up new avenues of philanthropic planning for the families I serve.”

With nearly 20 years of experience working in a consultative capacity, Cahill leads Twelve Points Wealth Management’s Family Office division, which provides concierge services for high net worth families. He specializes in providing comprehensive wealth management, estate and financial planning strategies to select group of clients - largely attorneys and others with complex wealth management issues. Cahill holds a Series 66 securities license and a life insurance license. He earned a degree in Finance and Management from Northeastern University, as well as a J.D. from Massachusetts School of Law. Cahill is also a Certified Financial Planner®.

Candidates for the CAP® designation must complete a minimum of three courses in philanthropic studies at the Irwin Graduate School and six hours of rigorous, supervised written examinations. The curriculum addresses the advanced design, implementation, and management of charitable gift techniques and strategies, as well as philanthropic tools including charitable trusts, private foundations, supporting organizations, donor-advised funds, pooled income funds, and charitable gift annuities. Over 750 individuals have been awarded the CAP® designation since its inception in 2003.

CAP® graduates are uniquely qualified to help charitable organizations achieve long-term financial success. In addition, professionals who have earned the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® designation help donors improve their communities by maximizing the effective application of their financial resources.
