Peabody Properties’ Braintree Village Youth Celebrate Annual Basketball League

9/18/17

Braintree Village, a 324-unit apartment community managed by full-service real estate and property management firm Peabody Properties (http://www.peabodyproperties.com), recently celebrated its 9th Annual Building Bridges Youth Basketball League, along with Braintree Mayor Joseph Sullivan, members of the Braintree Police Department and community members.

The six-week, interactive program at Braintree Village Apartments is funded through a MassHousing Youth Resident Activities Grant (YRAP) and supported by the Braintree Police Department. The popular league has provided children and teens, ages 5-17, with an opportunity to improve their basketball skills through weekly practices and games. Of equal importance is the program’s assistance in helping young residents develop leadership and communication skills to build self-esteem and respect for themselves and others.

During the celebration, League participants and volunteer coaches were presented with citations from Braintree Mayor Sullivan. Parents of program participants were also recognized by Peabody Properties’ Resident Services Department for their commitment to the program.

“This is a life-changing program for many of our young residents at Braintree Village,” said Lynne Sales, Director of Resident Services at Peabody Resident Services, Inc. “It’s a privilege to partner with the Braintree Police Department on this outstanding program; we’re already looking forward to the 10th annual event!”
