Warner Communications, a world-class boutique public relations and communications firm, today announced its selection as the agency of record by PreVeil, a cyber security company providing businesses with private and protected email and files through the use of end-to-end encryption – with unmatched ease of use. Warner Communications is working with PreVeil to build brand awareness through strategic public relations and social media marketing communications.
"Recent high profile data breaches - from Yahoo, to Verizon, Dow Jones and HBO – are waking businesses up to a new reality, in which current encryption methods aren't enough to effectively protect the enterprise," said Randy Battat, founder, president and CEO of PreVeil. "This is a crucial time for PreVeil to reach these companies with our solution: end-to-end encryption, with no passwords and no centralized points of vulnerability, as easy to use as unencrypted email. We're confident that Warner is the right partner to help us in reaching our prospective customers."
Currently, the two most widely applied email encryption processes are encryption in transit and encryption at rest, both of which leave enterprise servers vulnerable, whether in the data center or the cloud. PreVeil instead uses end-to-end encryption, which covers data on its journey from start to finish; messages and attachments are encrypted directly on the sender's device and are decrypted on the recipient's device. This means that only the sender and recipient can read them; the server cannot, and neither can anyone hacking the server.
In addition, most systems have the concept of a "super-user" or "administrator" who can access all information in the system. PreVeil's technology eliminates this vulnerability, instead establishing trust that is not centralized, but rather, distributed amongst a set of administrators or users. This avoids centralized points that can become targets for attackers. No one person within an enterprise - whether they're hacked from the outside, or are themselves an insider threat - can bring the entire business down.
"We are pleased to partner with PreVeil as they help businesses handle what is truly a cyber security crisis, through bringing effective, easy to use encryption to knowledge workers," said Carin Warner, President of Warner Communications. "PreVeil is led by successful technology entrepreneurs, with roots in MIT; they are poised for great things, and we're excited to partner with them on their upward trajectory."
