BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Economist Events has appointed integrated financial services marketing and communications firm, BackBay Communications, as its PR agency for its upcoming Finance Disrupted conference, being held September 28 at Convene at 117 West 46th Street, in New York City. This will be BackBay’s third consecutive year as the event’s PR agency, dating back to 2015 when the event was titled Buttonwood: The Valley Meets the Street. BackBay also partners with The Economist Events for its Impact Investing conference series.

The Finance Disrupted conference will cover the latest developments in the world of disruptive financial technology, and will specifically tackle topics such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and fraud, blockchain, regulation and startup funding. The event will also feature several one-on-one interviews with chief executives discussing the future of finance.

BackBay’s mandate includes raising awareness of the event and its speakers with key target media in the financial services and fintech space. In addition, BackBay will assist with pre-event digital communications, including content creation in the form of Q&As with the event’s industry leading speakers available at www.financedisrupted.com, as well as social media and media relations support at the event.

“It’s been a pleasure to partner with one of the leading global current affairs organizations as they continue to track the fintech revolution,” said BackBay Communications’ President and CEO Bill Haynes. “From the beginning stages of disruption to the age of maturity we are entering, The Economist has been a leading voice in the industry, consistently gathering impactful speakers offering valuable insights on fintech and its future.”

“We are delighted to have BackBay Communications support Finance Disrupted again this year,” said Leila Berkeley, SVP, Head of Economist Events. “Their deep understanding of the fintech space and their connections within the financial services media have brought real value to the event.”
