BayCoast Bank today announced that Matthew Kerr of Fall River, Mass., has been hired in the position of Assistant Vice President, Commercial Appraisal and Compliance Specialist.

In this position, Kerr will manage the real estate collateral valuation process associated with commercial loans. He will ensure regulatory compliance and internal policies and procedures within the Commercial Lending Department, and is responsible for ongoing regulatory reporting, data compilation, and preparation of periodic reports pertaining to new commercial loans.

Prior to joining BayCoast Bank, Kerr worked within the Commercial Lending Department for Bank of America Merrill Lynch, most recently as Assistant Vice President and Wholesale Credit Administration Associate. He had previously served as a Document Administrator/Officer.

Kerr was a student-athlete at Salem State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration/management. Currently, Kerr volunteers for Junior Achievement of Rhode Island and Meals on Wheels. He also serves as a coach for the Swansea Independent Baseball League and as a board member for Vista Condominiums.
