7/24/17

Massachusetts-based Babson College, recognized world leader in entrepreneurship education, is expanding to Miami, Florida, with three graduate programs—including the Blended Learning MBA, ranked No. 1 for alumni earnings and top 10 worldwide by Financial Times (FT), The Princeton Review, and Entrepreneur magazine.

The application period is open and classes are set to begin in fall 2018. Learn more and apply.

Babson's expansion builds on the ongoing success of its women's entrepreneurship accelerator, WIN Lab® Miami, which has had local roots since 2016. The program's inaugural cohort of local women entrepreneurs raised nearly $2 million in funding in the first year.

"Miami is home to more than 1,300 Babson alumni and is already such a vibrant network of family businesses and innovative startups," says Babson College President Kerry Healey. "We are excited to build on local WIN Lab momentum, further expand our role and presence in Miami's thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem, and bring three of Babson's world-renowned graduate programs to professionals who want to positively impact large corporations, family businesses, nonprofits, or start their own venture."

Babson's new hub in Miami will be located at the Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC Miami)—a co-working space in the University of Miami Life Science and Technology Park. A natural fit for Babson, it brings together a community of entrepreneurs focused on positive impact and is a part of the city's booming innovation corridor. Students will have full, 24/7 access to classroom, conference, and café space, and will benefit from CIC's weekly Venture Café Miami gatherings, monthly community breakfasts, client presentations, and mentors.

Babson College is globally recognized for Entrepreneurial Thought & Action® and the pre-eminent school for family business leaders for nearly 100 years.

Miami leads in startup activity, ranked No. 1 among the nation's 40 largest metro areas, and there is a growing need to support and strengthen family enterprises, which account for two-thirds of all businesses worldwide. For these reasons, Babson is ready now more than ever to expand its presence in the region and help foster entrepreneurial success across new ventures, established companies, and within long-standing family businesses.

While program specifics are still being developed, Babson Graduate offerings will include:

  • A Blended Learning MBA degree—this well-known Babson program combines online classes, face-to-face sessions, and virtual collaboration, and is ranked top 10 worldwide by Financial Times and No. 1 for average alumni earning.
  • A Master of Science in Business Analytics degree, which provides students with the tools and analytic methods to effectively communicate the value of data. It is delivered in a flexible blend of online and face-to-face sessions.
  • A self-paced Certificate of Advanced Management degree, which allows students to build relevant skills and earn credits that can be applied to a future Babson degree.

The Miami instructional location is pending approval from NEASC-Commission on Institutions of Higher Education.
