Fireman Capital Partners Promotes Chris Akelman to Principal and Ekta Sharma to VP

WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Fireman Capital Partners, a consumer-focused growth equity firm, today announced that it has promoted Chris Akelman to Principal and Ekta Sharma to Vice President.

Since joining Fireman Capital Partners in 2012, Mr. Akelman has been responsible for evaluating and executing new investment opportunities and supporting FCP’s portfolio companies. He is a Board Member at Oskar Blues Brewery Holdings, Surfside Holdings and IdeaPaint and was a Board Observer at Skip Hop prior to its sale to Carter’s. Prior to joining FCP, Mr. Akelman was an Associate in the Private Equity division of GB Merchant Partners where he identified and evaluated turnaround opportunities. Prior to joining GBMP, Mr. Akelman worked in the Global Consumer Group at Barclays Capital.

Ms. Sharma joined Fireman Capital Partners in 2014 as an Associate. Prior to joining FCP, Ms. Sharma was an Investment Banking Analyst in the Global Consumer & Retail Group at Citigroup, where she focused on advisory work in transactions including merger and acquisitions, debt financings and equity raises for public and private companies across multiple industries including consumer products, retail, homebuilding and building products.
