Verrill Dana attorney Kristin Doeberl was awarded one of only two national fellowships by the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC), an international and interdisciplinary association of professionals dedicated to improving the lives of children and families through the resolution of family conflict.
As a Fellow, Attorney Doeberl is part of the junior leadership for the organization, which includes participation in board meetings and committee/task force work to develop guidelines addressing the responsible use of social science research in family law matters, as well as presenting at the 2017 AFCC Annual Conference, “Turning Kaleidoscope of Family Conflict into a Prism of Harmony,” which took place in Boston from May 31 to June 3. At the conference, Kristin presented on the topic of Reunification Therapy within the context of high conflict divorce. Her panel, “Reunification Therapy: An Integrative Approach,” was attended by over 150 judges, lawyers, mediators, Guardians ad litem, Parenting Coordinators, and therapists.
Doeberl, an attorney in Verrill Dana’s Family Law Group, focuses her practice on assisting clients with issues in all areas of domestic law. She negotiates and drafts prenuptial, separation, and modification agreements, and represents clients in divorce, custody, removal, international child abduction, modification, and contempt proceedings. Kristin also advises clients on issues impacting the LGBTQ community.
