NEEBC Presents “The State of the 401k: How Your Company Can Address the Uneasy Future of Retirement Income”

The New England Employee Benefits Council (NEEBC) presents “The State of the 401k: How Your Company Can Address the Uneasy Future of Retirement Income” a Benefits Club luncheon on Thursday, July 20. The program will explore the variations in retirement readiness interpretations and introduce ways employers can help employees plan for retirement throughout their career.

Recent coverage of the nation’s retirement situation has been far from rosy, and particular weight has been put on the long-term performance, or lack thereof, of 401k plans. As a result, organizations in many different industries are beginning to consider ways “retirement readiness” becomes a commonplace idea for their employees, and leads to a more secure income for their golden years.

Join Rick Reed, Vice President and Defined Contribution Director at The Segal Group, and Phil Bondi, Director Compensation, Benefits and Retirement at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare, for this insightful program. Attendees will learn:

  • Different ways to create a savings culture, including innovative plan design, communication strategies and behavioral economics
  • The behavioral biases that could adversely impact decision-making
  • How to connect with employees through “big data” to personalize each situation and provide peer recognition
  • How to getthe best results from the retirement benefits offered to employees


The July 20 program will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 pm, with lunch and networking from 12:00 to 12:30, at Ropes & Gray, 48th Floor Prudential Tower, 800 Boylston Street in Boston. Free parking will be available in the Prudential garage. NEEBC programs may qualify for CEBS continuing professional education (CPE) credit. Participants must determine if the program aligns with "CEBS Content Domain."
