Bessemer Names Birnbaum, Karp and Shen to Partner

Bessemer Venture Partners named Charles Birnbaum, Amit Karp and Kristina Shen to partner, according to a press release.

Charles Birnbaum was previously vice president in the firm’s New York office and joined Bessemer in 2013. He serves on the boards of Zopa, United Capital, Fabric, Spruce and Eave, and will focus on financial services, consumer and education investments.

Amit Karp was a vice president in the firm’s Herzliya, Israel, office and joined Bessemer in 2012. He serves on the boards of otonomo and ScyllaDB, and will lead investments in Israel, including in companies involved with edge computing, machine learning, cybersecurity and consumer.

Kristina Shen was a principal in the San Francisco office and joined Bessemer in 2013. She is the firm’s lead on the boards of Glint, DoubleDutch and Retail Solutions, and will continue to invest in enterprise technology companies, including those involved with human assisted AI, enterprise voice, enterprise mobile and next-generation HR.
