Smithers to lead JLL Project and Development Services in greater New York region
JLL has hired Susanne Smithers as a senior project manager. She will oversee project management services throughout the state of New York. Smithersreports to Don Bucci, managing director and leader of JLL Project and Development Services in New York and Connecticut.
Smithershas more than 17 years of experience in project management, with a focus on sustainability. She is highly skilled at developing and executing strategic business plans to penetrate target markets, optimize product and service exposure, and achieve goals.
“Susanne has a strong reputation in the industry for building relationships and creating solutions,” said Bucci. “She is the ideal candidate to generate new business and oversee project management services throughout the greater New York area, including Albany, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse and the surrounding regions.”
Prior to joining JLL, Smithersserved as director of sustainability for ERS Consulting LLC, offering cost-effective, strategic solutions to new and expanding businesses. She also worked as vice president at ERS Energy Inc., where she oversaw business development initiatives in the United States, China and Canada, and as director of project management/contract administration for ERS Energy, ensuring that projects met consumerrequirements and contractual obligations.
Earlier, Susanne was manager of planning and development at Telergy Ltd. and right-of-way/development assistant manager for New City, N.Y.
Susanne is a member of the Project Management Institute and the New York Upstate chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council. She is an active board member of Christian Brothers Academy Athletic Booster Club and also serves as coach for a youth Amateur Athletic Union basketball team for a local Syracuse organization.
Susanne earneda bachelor of arts degree in sociology from SUNY Cortlandand a MBA in sustainable business from Marylhurst University.
