Hoffmann Architects Announces Eight Staff Promotions

Hoffmann Architects, an architecture and engineering firm specializing in the rehabilitation of building exteriors, is pleased to announce the promotion of eight staff members in three offices.

Connecticut office:

Robert A. Marsoli, Jr., PE has been promoted to Senior Engineer, in appreciation of his loyalty, technical proficiency, and strong client relationships. Celebrating his tenth anniversary with Hoffmann Architects this past February, Marsoli began his career at the firm in 2007 as a Project Coordinator and was promoted in 2010 to Project Manager.After gaining experience and advanced credentials as a Professional Engineer, heearned a promotion to Project Engineer in 2016. In addition to developing designs for challenging structural engineering projects, he has served over the years as a mentor to emerging professionals, and he has shared his growing expertise by publishing articles on topics related to the building envelope. With a civil engineering degree from Northeastern University, Marsoli has provided investigation and design services for clients including Aetna, Yale University, the New York State University Construction Fund, the Hospital of Central Connecticut, and Eversource Energy. He lives in North Haven, Connecticut.

Rachel A. Mesite earned a promotion to Senior Finance Coordinator, recognizing her outstanding performance and dependability as a key part of the firm’s financial administration. Since joining the firm in 2015as Finance Coordinator, Mesite has taken on additional responsibilities and has expanded the role of her position to include managing certificates of insurance and collections, as well as processing accounts receivable/payable, reconciling accounts, and participating in tax preparation activities. Her can-do attitude and capable handling of diverse financial tasks have made her a trusted member of the administrative staff.Mesite holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania. She lives in Wallingford, Connecticut.

David S. Obrizzo received a promotion to CAD/IT Coordinator, in credit to the initiative and capability he provides in computer drafting and technology. With multiple computer-aided design (CAD) certifications, including Autodesk Certified Professional, Obrizzo has extensive experience in drafting, modeling, and conceptual rendering. Since joining the firm in 2015 as Senior Project Representative, he has adopted a mentoring role, providingguidance and instruction in the use of architectural and graphic software programs to the technical staff. Serving as lead CAD drafter, Obrizzo will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and application of Hoffmann Architects CAD standards, and he will work closely with the Information Technology Manager to plan and implement technology projects, while providing support for the firm’s three offices. He lives in South Windsor, Connecticut.

New York office:

Tai Mahmuti, LEED Green Assoc. has been promoted to Senior Project Coordinator, in recognition of his leadership, initiative, and technical ability in addressing structural engineering challenges. Since joining the firm in February 2015 asProject Coordinator, Mahmuti has conducted structural and building envelope condition assessments and developed remediation design solutions for diverse projects, including sidewalk vault rehabilitation at Scholastic, Inc. Headquarters, exterior cladding restoration at 4 New York Plaza, waterproofing and curtain wall investigation at Bank of New York Mellon Corporation, and construction review at Fordham University Law School. With a degree in civil engineering from Carleton University in Ontario, Canada, he guides new staff members and promotes teamwork and strong client relationships. He lives in Astoria, New York.

Joseph A. Madaghiele received a promotion to Senior Project Representative, recognizing his proficiency with computer-aided drafting (CAD) and rendering programs, as well as his attention to detail and collegial relationships with clients and coworkers. He joined Hoffmann Architects in 2015 as Project Representative and has since assumed responsibility for organizing professional development seminars, in addition to his project tasks. Madaghiele holds a bachelor of architecture degree from the University of Arizona, which he applies to supporting project teams for clients such as Verizon, Columbia University, Rose Associates, Rutgers University, and Newmark Grubb Knight Frank. He lives in the East Village in Manhattan.

Steffany Malarik, Assoc. AIAearned a promotion to Senior Project Representative, in appreciation of her technical and drafting abilities, as well as her collaborative approach to projects. Since joining the firm in 2015 as Project Representative, Malarik has proven herself a spirited team player, organizing office sports teams for charity playoffs and encouraging comradery. With a bachelor of architecture degree from Pennsylvania State University, Malarik has provided architectural support to projects including roof replacement at Morgan Stanley Worldwide Headquarters in Manhattan, roof replacement and front entrance plaza design at the Morgan Stanley Purchase Branch Office, facade investigation and repairs at Barnard College, and sidewalk vault repairs at the Open Society Foundations-New York. She lives in the Lower East Side in Manhattan.

Richard W. Off, Assoc. AIAhas been promoted to Senior Project Representative, in recognition of his initiative in taking on and seeing through varied project tasks, and for his perseverance and collegiality. Since coming to Hoffmann Architects in 2016 as Project Representative, he has applied his bachelor of architecture degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and master of architecture and urban design degree from Columbia University to projects for the Farmingdale State College, the 69th RegimentLexington Armory in Manhattan, Washington Irving Library in Brooklyn, and St. Fidelis Church in Queens, among others. His studies included a focus on city environments, and he brings experience in urbanism to projects in the New York metropolitan area. He lives in Washington Heights in Manhattan.

Virginia Office:

J. Christopher Clements, Assoc. AIAreceived a promotion to Senior Project Representative, recognizing his mastery of Hoffmann Architects technical standards, his willingness to assume additional responsibilities, and his diligent effort in supporting project teams. In 2015, Clements joined Hoffmann Architects as Project Representative, bringing a background in water management, design, and construction, as well as a bachelor of science degree in chemistry from the College of William and Mary and a master of architecture degree from the Catholic University of America. He has brought his diverse educational and professional experience to projects at Lehigh University; the Smithsonian Institution; the Annie E. Casey Foundation; the Dome of the United States Capitol; and his own alma matter, the Catholic University. He lives in Washington, DC.
