CID Capital Sells Matilda Jane to Webster Capital

Webster Capital is pleased to announce that it has acquired Matilda Jane Clothing from CID Capital, an Indianapolis-based private equity firm.

Founded in 2002 with the mission of “keeping a little girl, a little girl”, Matilda Jane is a designer and provider of specialty apparel and accessories for girls, babies, tweens and women. The Company distributes its products through a network of Trunk Keepers that sell through in-home events in all 50 states. Matilda Jane has a differentiated brand that is whimsical and playful, embodying the spirit and imagination of childhood through its unique designs and silhouettes.

Don Steiner and Doug Williams, Operating Partner, will serve with Jeff Blade on the Matilda Jane board. Mr. Steiner has prior experience as an investor and director at Hanna Andersson, Garnet Hill and many other consumer and apparel brands. Mr. Williams has been President of Polo Ralph Lauren where he was responsible for most of their product lines including Ralph Lauren Kids.

Webster Capital is partnering with Morgan Stanley Alternative Investment Partners, Gates Capital Partners, PNC and THL Credit to provide financing. Goodwin Procter LLP acted as legal advisor to Webster Capital.
