Access Surgery Partners with JoMI

2/28/17

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--JoMI (Journal of Medical Insight, https://jomi.com), a Boston-based peer-reviewed surgical video journal, is now featured in McGraw Hill’s Access Surgery (http://accesssurgery.mhmedical.com/).

Access Surgery has begun releasing condensed versions of cases published on JoMI. The first release is a Laparoscopic Gastric Wedge Resection performed by Dr. Martin Goodman, filmed at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. Dr. Goodman, a surgical oncologist, has been listed as one of America’s Top Doctors four years in a row.

The Laparoscopic Gastric Wedge Resection, a procedure that has been perfected over the past thirty years, allows for shortened recovery time and requires only a 24-hour post-operative stay. Compared to open resection, laparoscopic resection carries far less risk of morbidity and allows the patient to return to a normal diet more quickly.

JoMI seeks to improve outcomes by making it possible for anyone to shadow great physicians through a rich didactic experience. The collaboration with Access Surgery will allow a wider audience to access valuable content. Additional videos from JoMI’s growing compendium are scheduled to be released shortly.
