Scott B. Kaplowitch
Edelstein & Company, LLP announced today that Scott B. Kaplowitch, CPA has been appointed Managing Partner of the firm, effective January 1, 2017.
Mr. Kaplowitch succeeds William Mahoney who steps down as Managing Partner after ten years of dedicated service in that role.
Mr. Kaplowitch began his career at Edelstein over 20 years ago, becoming a trusted advisor to individuals and business organizations throughout New England and the country on a wide range of sophisticated transactions and complex tax and regulatory issues. He advises clients on matters related to debt financing, mergers and acquisitions and capital formation, as well as international and multistate tax issues, foreign compensation and tax credits, trust and estates planning, and compliance and reporting issues. In addition, Mr. Kaplowitch has served as CFO, controller and general business adviser to clients, and frequently serves as executor and trustee for clients.

Mr. Kaplowitch received his B.S. from the University of Massachusetts (Amherst).
Mr. Kaplowitch is very active in community service. He is a past member of the North Shore Advisory Council to the Combined Jewish Philanthropies, serving on the Budget and Finance Committee. A member of Kernwood Country Club, he serves on the Board of Directors and is Chair of the House Committee and Assistant Treasurer. He was previously the chair of the Philanthropy Committee. Mr. Kaplowitch is also a past member of the Board of Directors and Finance Committee of the Jewish Community Center of the North Shore, and past Treasurer of the Jewish Federation of the North Shore. He is currently a member of the Boston Foundation Philanthropic Advisory Committee.
Mr. Kaplowitch and his family live in Marblehead.
