Kenneth S. Leonetti

Foley Hoag LLP has announced the appointment of Kenneth Leonetti as Co-Managing Partner of the firm. Leonetti succeeds former Co-Managing Partner William Kolb, whose term concluded as of July 1, 2016.

Kenneth Leonetti will work closely with the Executive Committee and other firm leaders to implementing the firm’s strategic plan, ensuring efficient and responsive client service, overseeing growth, and attracting and retaining the best talent to service clients’ needs.

“Through his service on the Executive Committee, Ken has already been an integral part of many of Foley Hoag’s recent accomplishments,” said Kahn. “He was the obvious choice to take on this expanded leadership role.”

“I welcome this challenge and the opportunity to work closely with Adam, the Executive Committee and our talented attorneys and professional staff to position the firm for continued future success,” Leonetti said. “The firm is committed to maintaining the highest level of client service through strong practices and industry groups, and by attracting and retaining top talent. I look forward to help lead the firm as it continues  to innovate and be a top provider of legal services to our clients.”

Leonetti is ranked by both Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business and The Best Lawyers in America as one of Massachusetts' leading bankruptcy lawyers. In 2015, he was named Boston Litigation - Bankruptcy Lawyer of the Year by The Best Lawyers in America.  While servicing as co-Managing Partner, Ken will maintain his active litigation practice, which focuses on bankruptcy and corporate reorganization; complex litigation; and trade secret, software, life sciences and licensing disputes.

An attorney at Foley Hoag since 1995, Leonetti was elected to the partnership in 2002 and to the firm’s Executive Committee in 2012. In addition to his firm service, Ken is a member of the Board of Directors of The Partnership, a Boston-based organization that works with corporations and other enterprises to attract, develop, and retain talented multicultural professionals at all levels of leadership.

Leonetti earned a Bachelor of Arts degree magna cum laude from Dartmouth College and a Juris Doctorate from Columbia University School of Law, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar.  Prior to joining the firm, he was a clerk for Chief Judge Charles P. Sifton of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York, and a management consultant with Strategic Planning Associates (now Oliver Wyman).

Leonetti serves on the firm’s Executive Committee along with Kahn, Thomas Barker and newly-elected members Jeffrey Collins and Teresa Martland. Collins, whose practice focuses on investment advisors and private investment funds, most recently served as chair of the firm's Business Department. Martland, whose practice focuses on executive compensation and ERISA matters, formerly chaired Foley Hoag’s Taxation practice group.
