EPSNews Unveils New Name, Website Address and Site Redesign

9/8/16

EPSNews (formerly Electronics Purchasing Strategies) has announced its name change and the unveiling of its newly redesigned website for the electronics supply chain community. The online site is now known as EPSNews. However, it remains dedicated to providing news, data and actionable intelligence to electronics OEMs and their manufacturing as well as supply chain and design chain services providers.

The new name and redesigned website pays homage to the online site's roots serving the global electronics and high-tech purchasing and procurement community and enhances the ease with which readers and users can interact with each other and access information. The web address for the site has also been changed tohttps://epsnews.com, reflecting the new name and also facilitating easy access.

In conjunction with the name change, the site has also been completely redesigned to make navigation easier and improve audience interaction, according to Bolaji Ojo, publisher and editor-in-chief. As part of the redesign, the site performance was also enhanced and provides additional opportunities for news, analysis, interactive data as well as polls. The redesign adds innovative locations on the website for corporate marketing and direct messaging to the various communities within the electronics supply chain, including buyers at OEMs and electronics manufacturing services providers, component suppliers, logistics companies, software vendors and other third-party supply chain services providers, Ojo said.

"We wanted to increase opportunities for b2b engagement on various levels, including content from all players to their varied audiences as well as from suppliers and distributors to purchasers at OEMs and EMS providers," Ojo said. "The redesign of the site improved loading speed and reduced complexity, affording readers easier access to desired materials." So far during 2016 EPSNews has provided in-depth coverage of major industry events, including mergers and acquisitions (Datwyler to Acquire Premier Farnell; Avnet Outbids Datwyler to Buy Premier Farnell; Analog Devices to Buy Linear Tech for $14.8B); industry leadership and corporate ranking (Top 50 Distributors: Market Leaders); management changes, (Avnet Sacks Hamada, Names Amelio Interim CEO;Global Exec Ed Smith Leaves Avnet); sourcing (Prepare for Tight Supply of Mil-Spec Connectors); finance (How Europe Built a $14.5B Tax Case Against Apple; Don't Use Apple Tax Law Defense Please) and a host of other topics.

The name change, site redesign and new website address are the first in a series of actions being taken by BBG Enterprises Inc., the parent of EPSNews, to improve services to the electronics industry. The company plans to introduce additional services and offerings in the near future and will be announcing some of these before the end of the year.

"There are major changes taking place in the electronics industry and we aim to provide the necessary tools that will help all market segments better understand the shifting landscape, their roles in it and how they can better serve customers and suppliers," Ojo said. "Some of the offerings we are weighing will focus on providing intelligence that decision-makers within the electronics supply chain can consider in managing their businesses."
