$130M New England Conservatory Projects Moving Forward

The Boston Redevelopment Authority Board has unanimously approved the Student Life and Performance Center Project and the Learning Center Project within the New England Conservatory’s Institutional Master Plan.

The combined total value of both projects is $130 million.

The Student Life and Performance Center Project (SLPC Project), which is adjacent to 241 St. Botolph St, will be a 135,000 square foot project. It will include 252 beds with common areas and shared living amenities, a dining commons with a performance stage, a library resource center with collaborative study spaces, and three rehearsal and performance spaces.

The Learning Center Project at 33 Gainsborough Street, across from Jordan Hall, is a 65,000 square foot project. This will expand the library resource center, student services and administrative functions, academic space, practice space, faculty studios, student commons spaces that connect the building to the adjacent SLPC Project, and a public coffeehouse on Huntington Avenue.
