Wednesday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average finished the day up 0.2%, the NASDAQ up 0.5%, and the S&P 500 up 0.3%. Boston saw its best-known stocks fall 0.2% while the market enjoyed a good day.

Biggest Gainer

Wednesday's biggest gainer in Boston was Akamai Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:AKAM). Share price climbed to $34.44, an increase of 2.3%. The stock changed hands at three times its current three-month average volume, with 9.3 million shares traded. Closing at $3.44 (+1.6%) on volume of 34,351, Lojack Corporation (NASDAQ:LOJN) was another big gainer.

Biggest Loser

The biggest loser Wednesday was Casual Male Retail Group Inc (NASDAQ:CMRG). Shares were down 4.8% to close at $3.19. Changing hands at 0.3 times its three-month average, the stock traded on volume of 104,678. Another big loser was Idenix Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:IDIX), falling 3.4% to close at $11.17 on volume of 2.2 million.
