The Dow Jones Industrial Average finished unchanged, the NASDAQ was up 0.7%, and the S&P 500 finished up 0.1%. Boston's major stocks closed down 0.4%, while the market enjoyed a good day overall.

Biggest Gainer
In Boston, Thursday's biggest gainer, Akamai Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:AKAM), rose 10.5% to close at $38.06. With 18.6 million shares changing hands, the stock traded at five times its average volume over the past three months. Pegasystems Inc. (NASDAQ:PEGA) rose 2.4% to close at $29.63 on volume of 214,191, making it another big gainer for the day.

Biggest Loser
Thursday's biggest loser was Forrester Research, Inc. (NASDAQ:FORR), falling 7.1% to close at $32.80. With volume of 130,836, the stock changed hands at three times its average over the past three months. Closing at $7.42 after falling 2.2% on volume of 20,596, Techtarget Inc (NASDAQ:TTGT) was another big loser for the day.
