At market close on Friday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 1.2%, the NASDAQ up 1.4%, and the S&P 500 up 1.4%. Boston saw its best-known stocks finish up with the market, closing up 2.4%.
Biggest Gainer
Constant Contact, Inc. (NASDAQ:CTCT) was Friday's biggest gainer in Boston, rising 16.2% to close at $30.22. Trading on volume of 3.7 million, shares changed hands at six times their three-month average volume. Also finishing strong was Casual Male Retail Group Inc (NASDAQ:CMRG), closing at $3.34 (+12.5%) on volume of 305,758.
Biggest Loser
The biggest loser on Friday was Idenix Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:IDIX), dropping 11.4% to close at $11.68. Trading on volume of 9.2 million, the stock changed hands at 3.1 times its three-month average.
