Boston's more noticeable stocks were up despite a bad day on the market, finishing up 0.5%. At market close on Wednesday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.2%, the NASDAQ down 0.5%, and the S&P 500 down 0.3%.

Biggest Gainer
Wednesday's biggest gainer in Boston was Lojack Corporation (NASDAQ:LOJN), closing at $3.85 (+18.8%). With volume of 314,235, the stock changed hands at 5.8 times its average over the past three months. Another big gainer was Sonus Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:SONS), rising 2.6% to close at $2.76 on volume of 2.5 million.

Biggest Loser
The biggest loser on Wednesday was Akamai Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:AKAM), dropping 2.2% to close at $36.61. Trading on volume of 3.4 million, the stock changed hands at 0.6 times its three-month average. Another big loser was Teradyne Inc. (NYSE:TER), falling 1.9% to close at $16.23 on volume of 3.9 million.
